Kristyna got her first break back in 2005 busking on the streets of Manchester and winning BBC Radio Five Live’s ‘Busk Idol’ competition with her guitarist Ben Williams.
The Manchester based singer-songwriter has since toured Europe, performed on BBC 1, BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4 while her self-penned song ‘My Lord’ was featured on the Universal Records compilation album Songbird 2008 alongside the likes of Amy Winehouse, Eva Cassidy and Erykah Badu.
But it’s performing live where Kristyna is most comfortable. Her first public performance at aged 4 in her local church choir was a sign of things to come.
Kristyna has performed at SXSW in the USA, in arenas across Europe with Chris De Burgh and has opened for Mick Hucknall, Will Young, Status Quo, Pink Martini, M People and last summer for Lemar and The Wanted at Jersey’s Big Gig in The Park.
Kristyna is also an ambassador for Centrepoint, a UK charity that helps young homeless people to get back on their feet. Last year Kristyna started a busking tour of the UK to raise money for the charity and met its patron, HRH Princes William and Prince Harry. Kristyna is still on her quest to raise more funds for the charity on her next tour.
Kristyna released her début single I’m Not Going Back in 2012 on Decca Records receiving critical acclaim in Music Week and featured articles in The Daily Mail and The Sun.
The follow-up single called Just 3 Little Words – produced like her album by Grammy Award winning producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Paolo Nutini, Gomez) – will be released in the next few months.
The songs on the album span a ten year period from one of her earliest songs called “Betrayal” written when Kristyna was only 16 to “Make It Right” which was written in 2010.
Kristyna’s début album is called Pinch Me Quick and will be out later this year.
